Stage Acting

The term theatre comes from the Greek “theatron” , which indicates a “place to show,to exhibit”. Thus, acting is one of the oldest forms of entertainment and cultural activity known to mankind. It is also one of the performing arts that consists of the reenactment of stories. Acting is the work or actions performed by an actor or actress through their movements, gestures, speech and intonation when portraying a character in a play, film or other work.

The performance must be charged with an intention that allows the viewer to be stimulated and to receive the message in its entirety. A prerequisite is that spectators and actors are aware that they are experiencing the performance together, each in his or her own position and role. The performance is thus a living and shared spectacle.

This part of the course is made of a youtube playlist about acting.

You can find the playlist here.

Please relate this playlist to the topics of the manual.

To see an overview of the playlists on our youtube channel, you can also open the youtube channel and click on “playlists”.

For this chapter we created a playlist with interviews from different performers.

You can find the personal interviews with the performers on our youtube channel:

Finally, we created a self-evaluation with questions related to the basic manual and tutorials above.

The self-evaluation can be done through different formats in order to make it more accesible:

  1. A test in google forms
  2. Microvideos with the same questions in stories on instagram with poll (will be uploaded during the week)
  3. Self testing on the online platform See below.
